We will help young people have a better understanding of the GBA. The construction of the GBA will bring huge opportunities to Hong Kong and cities in the GBA can well complement each other. For Hong Kong, it can develop advantageous industries and promote “Reindustrialization” to contribute to the construction of the international science and technology center. We look forward to continuing to work together, giving full play to the unique advantages of “One country, Two systems” to enable Hong Kong to create greater glories and to practice the vision of helping youth and creating tomorrow.”

In December 2018, the Greater Bay Area Homeland Development Fund and the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation officially booted in Hong Kong. The Greater Bay Homeland Development Fund was jointly initiated by large Chinese enterprises in Hong Kong, large mainland China enterprises and Hong Kong local enterprises. It would support Hong Kong to be an international science and technology center, promote reindustrialization in Hong Kong, and develop Hong Kong’s advantageous industries in the GBA. It would cooperate with enterprises and institutions in Guangdong and Macao to participate in the construction of the GBA. At the same time, the Development Fund unites youth-leaders in various fields to set up the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation. It is aimed to promote youth exchanges and integration in the GBA, set up a platform for Hong Kong youth development, and set up ladders and bridges to help young people solve their problems in school, employment and business startups. In the past few months, the Youth Community Foundation has actively liaised with various youth organizations to implement co-operation projects, including supporting “Innovation in Hong Kong – Global Talent Carnival 2019” to provide employment opportunities for young people, sponsoring the “Love Hong Kong, Love Speech, Love Singing” Icon Music Assembly to promote cultural exchanges, jointly publishing the reference book “Discovery Pilot Guides: the Greater Bay Area” with the Hong Kong X Foundation to help young people to start businesses in the GBA and seek development opportunities. In the future, the Youth Community Foundation will continue to actively engage with different youth organizations to collectively organize activities. Key projects include the establishment of the Greater Bay Area Youth Project Funding Scheme, funding of youth organizations to organize projects, support on the startups funded by the Home Affairs Bureau Youth Development Fund, and establishment of the “First Cantonese Experience” youth exchange subsidy scheme in the GBA. The purpose of these projects is to encourage young people to understand the development prospects of the GBA. Touching stories in the GBA are also discovered and formed into the GBA Story Series “Ordinary People’s Extraordinary Things”.
